"The Beautiful You"

Media has created a specific standard image that girls are expected to have. This image is unrealistic to the millions of girls, who have different body types and can never achieve this body type. While, most women do not have this body type nor could have it, media still portrays this as the only desirable body to have. Expecting girls to have thin bodies and large breasts in order to be beautiful is both detrimental and unrealistic.

  1. I really like this image and the contour lines created by her body. I think it is interesting how you can't see her face because it makes it more impersonal and somewhat suggests that society has created a "cookie cutter" ideal body type that doesn't allow individualism.

  2. This is a really great image for this blog's theme. This picture kind of makes you think, especially because there is no face associated with it, how other viewers view this. Some could see it as the "cookie cutter beauty" but others could see it as themselves and not fitting the image. The angle is really interesting to because it isn't a typical view for body image becuase of the shadows that it can create on people.
